A man can never have enough tools. This was used to tap an AR-15 front sight block. The tap functioned flawlessly. However, the front sight post measured 0.160" in diameter and the tap measured 0.165" in diameter. Therefore, the post wobbled in the housing, making it difficult to change the post's height. Make sure to measure the item that would fit in the hole created by this tap; if it's under 0.165" in diameter then this tap is not recommended. No stars deducted because of my unique circumstances.

This is a GREAT little tap set

This is a GREAT little tap set! Complete with STARTING....INTERMEDIATE.....and BOTTOM tap. Good quality and MUCH less expensive than buying each separately. I was working on some delicate little holes in IRON WOOD on a CHAPMAN STICK stringed instrument and these little babies did the trick for cleaning a re-tapping 20 bridge piece and nut piece string guide holes. I will probably NEVER need to use this very UNUSUAL pitch tap set again...but I will ALWAYS keep them just in case! GOOD BUY!

Good for light duty tapping, not for threading stainless steel

Would probably work fine on soft metals but not tough enough to thread stainless bar stock.

Very nice set for all Tapping jobs.

Very sharp and strong. It worked on hardened steel for me. Use like any tap: use cutting fluid, don't force it, turn 1/4 turns, remove/clean/re-oil often to get a clean cut.

High quality tap set.

I needed this size tap to make a missing knob for an indicator stand. This set is clearly high quality, comes with a nice case, no issues whatsoever.

M4/16 front post thread

I Installed a new post in my Magpul BUIS.but the new post was bigger than the original. The thread size is hard to find but this little kit does the trick.

Great taps

Top of the line. These things are sharp as all get out. I have been investing al ot of money in Champion tools lately and these make a great addition.
