Ummmmm ... Why didn't I find this years ago?!?!?!?!?!?!? It is WONDERFUL!!!!! I don't think I'll ever leave the house. Good thing it has a car plug. ???? This is my first shiatsu massager, so maybe I'm more in love with that aspect versus the product. Regardless, this thing is awesome. Currently I have it placed behind me at my mid-lower back working on a perpetual sore spot thanks to my scoliosis. Heaven. I'll probably be sore tomorrow but don't care one bit because it feels so good. I also like how the arm holes act not only as an arm rest, but for the needed purpose of applying more pressure to my shoulders. It's a bit much on my neck, but I think if I place a towel between my neck and the device I'll be golden. Best Christmas present ever!

This is the best product next to the human hand
I absolutely love this Shiatsu massager. I have some fairly fierce issues with my neck and spine and am constantly bugging my husband to massage. Granted, he is much better than any product I could buy, this is the closest "second" I have come across. I can put my wrists into the sleeves and pull down for more pressure, or just rest them there. It is a little difficult to use it anywhere but my shoulders, but it is do-able. It will cut off when I've used it for about 15 to 20 minutes, but if I let it sit for a bit, it will work like a charm! I would absolutely recommend this!

For someone who enjoys and can take this force it is a very good machine.
It is a strong massager with a forceful kneading action. Would have given it a higher rating but the force of the massage becomes somewhat uncomfortable and one has to move away from the machine. For someone who enjoys and can take this force it is a very good machine. The heating is also very low and can hardly be felt.

Outstanding Product
This is outstanding. As an earlier Reviewer had said when I was considering purchasing. It's the next best thing to having a masseuse in home. If anything, I worry for my relatively small body, that the kneading might be too strong as to bruise. But, when my back aches, that's exactly the level of pressure sought if I have no other. It is very well worth it. Myself, I wouldn't recommend for daily use, but that's just me.

Loved it when it worked.
Loved it when it worked. I don't want to write a bad review because I love it so much but we couldn't get it to work after a month we had it. I bought my in-laws on and theres still work so we have to go to they're house to get the stress out. By the time we notice that it will not work for us NO more we cannot replace it. This took a lot of thinking for a non financially stable family to purchase a $130 item but we did and now we have stress build up and out of $130.00.

this is designed for VERY small people... you are supposed to put your arms in the parts that hang down .... that is supposed to allow you to increase the pressure... well if you are maybe 6 years old it will fit... if you are an average sized person not so much. Also if you do increase the pressure it stops... you have to relieve the pressure then it will start up again. I was not impressed and would not recommend it...

Love it!
This is really good. It is my third shiatsu massager. All three are for different parts of the body. I can position this one so that it massages that place in my shoulders that I cannot reach. Well worth the purchase. Wish I had one for work too.

I bought this for my husband and it exceeded our expectations. You can use it on your neck, back, stomach and even thighs. It could feel a little rough , but you should control the pressure by pulling on the straps and then it is great. My husband now uses it almost every day while we watch TV.

15 minutes of awesome kneading goodness
It was actually a negative review on Amazon.com which motivated me to buy this. Something along the lines of, "This massager is horrible unless you're a buffalo." And that's when I knew it would be perfect, as I like deep massages. Using the arm harnesses, it really kneads into your back and neck. However, there are a few things to consider before buying: 1. This thing is large and heavy. That should be somewhat obvious from the pictures, but it definitely works better being used in one or two areas for the whole massage duration instead of moving it all over the place. Continuity is good. 2. 15-minute auto shut-off. Other massagers may have longer – 30 minutes or even an hour. Do your research. The package or insert doesn't say long long it needs to be unplugged before it resets and you can have another 15 minute massage, so you might have to do a little trial and error on this to find out just how often you can get a lovely mechanical backrub. 3. DO remember to unplug it once you're done. For some reason if you don't, even if you wait a long period of time it will not start. Then you'll have to unplug it and plug it in again, and it'll be good to go. The insert warns in several places to unplug when not in use. Do this. I've yet to see how long this device will last, but so far I love it. As others have said, great for in-between appointments to the RMT.

Good for relaxation and treatment.
My family and I enjoyed using the massager for 3-4 years. It’s easy to use and launch on most of body parts. We used it for relaxation and treatments, mostly on shoulders, necks and waists. It’s powerful enough to massage deep tissues and personally I enjoyed the heat function a lot. The thickness of the cloth/net maybe improved, because it wears out after 3-4 years using. We used a towel to cover the 2 holes, but we tired of adjusting towels after a while. Beside that, everything still works perfectly.

Feels great but NOT built to last
Buyer beware. To be fair, I originally purchased this item 2 years ago. However, the purpose of this review is to highlight the potential lifecycle of this product. As advertised it provides an amazing "manually held" massage. The heat sensation is great. However, 2 years into owning this product it has failed. And it wasn't used very often in the 2 years I've owned it. The main contact point of the machine are 2 plastic rotating massage heads. Suddenly, one of them started making an annoying sound. There is a zipper along one side that exposes the massaging mechanism inside. These massage heads are mounted with two very cheap, thin, clear plastic brackets. Considering these are designed to absorb the impact between your body and machine they are not built to last. For a unit costing upwards of $130 CDN it seems like a petty cost cutting measure to not make these brackets strong enough to withstand the intended use of this product. With a machine that is otherwise mechanically sound, this broken bracket renders this unit useless. On top of this, try to find any information on the company Carepeutic. THERE IS NOTHING OUT THERE. There is no customer service to speak of. I'm guessing this brand name is just a mask for another manufacturer. Other products I have purchased from Amazon came from companies who stand behind their products and send company information after your purchase. I don't expect any warranty coverage after 2 years but it would be nice to know there are replacement parts available for something that would be so easy to fix. Unless a 130 dollar product was designed to be disposable. So product works as advertised but it is not built to last. It may be worth your time to research other similar products to see if they are built stronger than this unit. I now need to buy a replacement and will not purchase another unit from this company.

I'm quite happy with this purchase
I'm quite happy with this purchase. I have consistently very tight tension in my shoulders and thought that maybe if I got something that I could use close to every day, it might relieve some of that tension. I debated between this and a handheld massager. I chose this style because it can work on both shoulders at once and i can sit comfortably while using it instead have awkwardly having to reach to wherever I want the massager to go. As others have said, it is a fairly hard massage, but that's what I was looking for. There is only one speed and the two massaging pieces either turn in one directly or the other. There is a heat setting but I can't say that I really notice it. If you are OK with a more basic massager, I'd say go with this. If you want more settings, go with something different. After having it for about a week I've also noticed that it will shut off before the 20 minute cycle is through. A little annoying but nothing insurmountable as you just have to press the on button for it to start up again.

OH WOW!
Wow I now have my own personal messager when I need it :-) I have severe shoulder problems, where I need a message daily and more sometimes, I am so tired of being in pain... So I thought lets give it a Try. Oh wow so far worth every penny. My boyfriend and in law tried it and now they want me to share.... HUMMMMMM we'll see... LOL It gives a good message.... You know the kind where it hurts sometimes, but the hurt is so good afterwards... I give this a 5 star for sure plus with the heat is an extra bonus. ;-)
