This is the exact same part that came with the JD S170. Much better price on Amazon vs the big box hardware store.

This is the exact filter for a 2017 20hp VTwin DR Brush Field and Brush Mower

I really don't know why DR will not give you the part replacement numbers for their products other than they sell them at a much more expensive price. Looked it up on line and in owners manual very ambiguous information in the Brigs and Stratton manual. took a chance and bingo this is the one, Same issue with getting an oil filter I use WIX filters the Briggs manual gives the part number and got the WIX part number off the machine I put on last year the part number is now different I bought the exact number off the WIX filter that fit perfectly on the machine last season. WIX changed the filter yet did not change the part number. The correct WiX part number for this machine is 57035. Amazon sells it as do most auto part stores that carry WIX filters. Hope this helps reduce some frustration..

Better than aftermarket

I bought a used simplicity tractor, and someone had put an aftermarket filter in that didn't seal correctly. I was getting a lot of dirt sucked into my intake. This one fit properly and solved that problem.

OEM Replacement

This Spring I realized I'd never thought to find or replace my Craftsman YT4000 lawn tractor's air filter - then did find it hidden beneath a panel and was appalled to discover it completely clogged with dirt and dust. The green foam filter had done a good job of keeping the worst stuff away from the interior paper filter, but the foam was deteriorating and the whole thing obviously needed replacement. I received an OEM B&S filter identical to the original, fitting perfectly in its slot above the engine. Together with newly installed drive belt, drive pulleys, and deck belt, my decade-old tractor is running and cutting like new again.

They work as advertised

These Briggs and Stratton filters are the same as the John Deere filters, but a bit less expensive. According to the book, they should be changed once each year. That's a good idea, even if you blow it out on occasion. Good product.

Great price good delivery and is OEM product

This price is far cheaper than I could buy this filter for locally. It is B&S OEM in the original box and the delivery was fast, within a few days. I will order again if still available the next time I need a filter change.
