Superior Oil Filter for my 19hp Briggs and Stratton engine

This is an oil filter designed for hard use and extended life. We do our own oil changes and this filter fit perfectly. This filter costs a little bit more than a standard filter but protecting your engine pays dividends by reducing the liklihood of engine damage and repairs.

Great Product.

Second time using this with Amsoil 10W-30 oil. As people have noted, numbers and manufacture conflict. However, cross reference to both are same as Fram PH8170. Use in confidence.

The unnecessarily expensive, but correct OEM filter for Briggs and Stratton's 24hp mower engine (44S877-0014-G1).

The general quality of the filter is good, and most importantly it's the correct oil filter for the Briggs and Stratton 24HP motor used on my Husqvarna ZTR mower. The engine model number for my mower is: 44S877-0014-G1. The only issue I have regarding this filter is it's artificially inflated, ridiculous cost (hence the 2-star decrement). You can buy a top-shelf Mobil 1 EP or Amsoil synthetic media filter for your car for essentially the same price as this tiny lawn mower filter. This is in part driven by the manufacturer artificially creating an overly specific filter - not because the oil supply requirements and internal engine tolerances of this mower's engine are so 'specific' and different than any B&S 20+ HP V-twin engine - but because they want to charge you $13 for a filter that costs (maybe) a couple bucks to produce. But hey - it's orange, and that's got to count for something - right?

Exactly what I expected

I saw from several reviews that several people had ordered a Briggs and Stratton part number, but received a Husqvarna numbered filter in Briggs packaging. This is exactly what I hoped for when placing my order as I have a Briggs powered Husqvarna lawn tractor. This leads me to believe that the supplied filter is interchangeable, if not exactly the same. Anyways, I'm happy as I got exactly what I wanted, which is a the proper filter for my 19hp Briggs engine.

Nice stubby filter

I bought this for m my rider as the shop down the road only has the long style. My husqvarna uses a short filter and goes behind the cowling, long ones don’t fit and push out the cowling.

Dented

The side was dented out of the box. It seems to work so far (2 weeks out). It matches the original filter. I think you can get a compatible one cheaper at cad tire.
