Great "Army Starter" Kit
Warlord Games' Prussian Landwehr (1813-1815) set contains 24 hard, grey plastic infantrymen and 2 metal miniatures of an officer and drummer. The set comes with 48 separate heads, offering the opportunity to build the figures with either plumed shakos or the soft cap illustrated on the box art. The set also includes one additional bare, bandaged head. The collar of the uniform is attached to the heads, so if you are planning on using third party heads, you'll need to account for that. These plastic figures go together quickly as their assembly only requires attaching the selected head to the one-piece body. The downside of this approach is that the figures have a relatively uniform appearance. As a result, every figure looks as if it is standing around on sentry duty. Some of this uniformity is compensated for by the inclusion of multiple heads and variations in the figures' uniforms. For example, the figures have different footwear and equipment. The overall look of the unit is designed to be fairly ragged with a number of the figures appearing shoeless or with bandaged feet or torn trousers. The mold lines on the models are minimal and relatively easy to clean up. No bases are included with the set, so these will need to be purchased separately. (Each individual figure has a small, circular, built-in base). However, the set comes with a usable set of flags that can be cut out from the included information pamphlet, which is a nice addition. Unfortunately, no flag bearer is included in the kit, so you will either need to purchase or "kit-bash" one from the existing figures. At about $1 a figure through second-hand vendors with free shipping, this is an incredibly affordable approach to starting a Napoleonic Prussian army that looks good painted and on the tabletop. If you're looking for a way to start or "beef up" your Prussian Napoleonic army, I highly recommend this kit.

Good Looking Battalion
This is a much better box of figures than the first set of Warlord Games figures I purchased. The set includes 26 figures, 24 plastic and 2 metal. The metal figures are the command section. The plastic figures are on 4 sprues of 6 figures each. The 6 figures are all at attention with a musket shouldered. Each body is different in accoutrements and footwear. There are 6 heads with soft caps, 6 heads with shakos, and one bare bandaged head per sprue. This allows you to build a very ragtag looking battalion. The figures are easy to build. Just add a head. And then paint. There were over 60 Landwehr Regiments so there is a lot to work with. Combine a couple more Landwehr battalions and a Prussian Musketeer battalion to build a brigade. I recommend Osprey Men-at-Arms no. 192 Prussian Reserve, Militia, & Irregular Troops 1806-15, by Peter Hofschroer as a reference source.

Great product and price. Easy assembly. Flag bearer NOT included.
I have been a regular Warlord Games customer and these Prussian Landwehr are very nice. However, my beef is with the listing on Amazon as it suggests there are 38 figures. There are only 26. My beef with Warlord is that the box rear picture shows a flag bearer included with a pole for the flag. Neither is included. You get 24 plastic soldiers and 2 metal figures (drummer and officer). How they have not caught this error by now is surprising, but in the end, the set does come with a number of flags you can cut out and use. The easy fix for me was to just mount the flag on a man's musket. There is a great deal of variation in heads and you do have the option of using shakos or wheel hats. Some faces have large beards and glasses and each sprue contains a hatless head with bandaged look. Very cool over all and not the end of the world without the flag bearer, but seems deceptive to have a picture of models on back with one. These are so much easier than Perry's.
