Love this toilet seat!
Very sturdy, well made and beautiful rich color and gloss. Love it. Thank you for making a quality product.

Hinges are plastic with a metal cover
This is the seat style we prefer for durability. We wanted to replace one -- same brand, bamboo wood, round -- whose hinges had metal finish that was peeling and flaking, but it lasted for many years before the metal finish gave out. We couldn't find one in the store, so we ordered this one. It said Brushed Nickel Hinge in the product description. It has sturdy plastic hinges. The only brushed nickel we see is on the decorative hinge cover. That was one of the features we wanted when we shopped. Metal hinges, no finish to flake. These are plastic. Some metal cap, that's it. On trying to install it, we ran into a couple of problems, so, needless to say, we are not having an easy time installing and want you to know about this. The mounts have flat rubberized pads that are supposed to fit onto the hinge mounts using four little posts that fit into holes. These replace plastic washers from the previous model. The pads won't stay put, so you can't position the thing. I had to lightly glue them down into the piece they're supposed to fit into. Worse! We apparently have a toilet that is old enough that the standard design must have changed. The bowl curves out in the back, near the bolts. That would ordinarily be OK, but! There is a handy tab on the nuts that hold the --> plastic! bolts. That tab sticks out too far to tighten past the curve of the bowl. SO! We thought we could cut off the end of the tab to make it work. No dice. It is a very tough material. We have tried a heavy-duty utility shears. Nope. An exacto(R) knife. Changed the blade on the knife. Nope. Can't even snap it off with a pliers where we scored it. So our next gambit will be using a heavy file on it and if that doesn't work, we'll have to go to a plumbing supply store and find appropriate nuts. (Update, can't find the file.) We don't think at this point we will return it, but be advised, it's no cakewalk to install, even if your bowl doesn't bulge out. We spent almost 2 hours what should have taken about 15 minutes. Time taken to figure out how it works. Realize the rubber pads won't stay put. Try installing with the nut that won't tighten past the bulge. Now we'll have to look for new hardware. Biggest disappointment is that the hinges are plastic. The issue with the tabbed nut is crazy.

inspection oversight
A pretty wooden seat-- but not pleased about flaws that show when lid is raised. So the plan is to make sure not to lift the seat cover when inspection takes place?? What a sneaky way to get a product out the door with nobody's knowledge. This is disgusting! Why would anyone trust you after this trick has been played on an unsuspecting customer?

Not quite right
The listing says: "Solid wood construction with laminated Natural wood." "Solid" and "laminated" are two different things. All I know is that on both the lid and the seat the grain pattern is different on top and bottom. Also, the finish on the seat is very rough. I'm going to sand the ridges on mine. That said, it did fit and was easy to install. Little early yet to determine sturdiness, but the grain runs vertically across the front so I expect it will eventually crack there. Of course, they're all made that way. I think I'll build one the right way and have it on hand for next time :-).

Nice looking toilet seat
It's a bit darker than expected but the wood decor looks pretty nice and seems fairly sturdy for now. I got this to replace another toilet seat that was driving me crazy because it kept moving. This one has worked pretty good so far. The flip-top hinge is a bit hard to open if you need to make adjustments due to limited space to use a screwdriver and I ended up cutting myself. The only thing that detracts from this toilet seat is the plastic hinge. So ugly! However, I can deal and will be replacing my other toilet seats with this to have a matching set.

Almost wood with plastic hinge
I was looking for wood toilet seats that had some kind of protection for the screws that attach the seat to the toilet. Our old ones had rusted in place and we had to saw through the screws. This has plastic screws and covers to hide them. The problem: the seat is a bit over polished and does not feel like the old oak ones we had. Plus the hinge and cover for the screws is straight plastic. Our old ones were brass and looked way better until they became impossible to polish (or remove!). Nevertheless, these look better than white ones would. They look like wood except for the attachment and they fit the toilet.

Your bum will thank you.
After reading a ridiculous amount of reviews for other wooden/bamboo toilet seats, I took a flyer on this one with no reviews simply because it was the only one I found with a detailed diagram with the measurements in the description pictures. After a couple weeks, I've determined this is great toilet seat. First of all, the opening in the seat is not smaller like most wooden/bamboo seats you find. As you can see, the hinges are plastic with the brushed nickel housing on the clips, so it doesn't slip or slide at all like some wooden/bamboo seats that are mounted on brass bars. It fits my American Standard 6lpf, normal round bowl perfectly. One question I saw asked in every other toilet seat Q&A was the number of bumpers. It has four plastic bumpers on the bottom seat.
