Gives me a much more accurate PH reading for my hot tub
Anyone who owns a pool or hot tub knows that the PH strip is very hard to read. The colors don't discern themselves very well which could cause issues. So I got this to make sure my PH stays within the correct range. I did the calibration the day it arrived but it was already calibrated correctly when I got it. After a couple of weeks I did check the calibration again and it had gone up a few clicks so I just recalibrated (essentially just dip it in the solution they give you and reset to the correct reading.) Because salt water tubs tend to naturally raise PH levels over time, I end up checking my hot tub PH once in the morning and again in the evening. The tool is very easy to use and takes the guesswork out of testing your PH levels!

Customer service matters
Had an issue with the 1st meter shipped to me… they fixed the situation by immediately mailing me out a new meter & they sent a paid return sticker so no costs were incurred by me… new meter works great !

Really nice little instrument!
I've had this kit for almost a year and use it constantly... I calibrate it occasionally just out of due diligence, but it hasnt really needed it.. it hasnt ever been more than 0.1 off... UPDATE: Mine stopped working after about 11 months. I contacted Customer Service expecting the usual warrantee run-around... but was utterly stunned at how smoothly it went.. A rep named Tyler was SO helpful, professional, and attentive! He answered each of my e-mails in less than 30 minutes, and had a new meter on its way to me in no time.. Apera gets 5 stars for the device.. and TEN stars for the way they treat their customers!!

Great to monitor ph levels...
I have a problem with kidney stones. I need to monitor my urine ph to keep it between 6.2-6.8, otherwise I develop acid kidney stones. The meter comes with 2 small pre-made bottles of ph liquid to help calibrate the meter accurately before use. The set up was easy using these liquids and I get very accurate readings so I know what my ph is daily. No more stones as long as I can monitor my ph with this accurate meter. Reading the meter is straight forward with the liquid crystal display and an instruction booklet comes with it showing you how to use and set up the meter.

Everything else came seal packed but why is there crystallisation around the plastic cover/cap? Why are there water droplets and water near the sensor and inside the plastic cover/cap? It seems like this product has been used or tested prior to shipping. There are fingerprints all over the instrument.

Ein Messgerät was auch funktioniert
Jeder der einen Pool hat kennt das Wasserwerte überprüfen, da der Ph Wert einer der wichtigsten ist wollte ich ein zuverlässiges Messgerät. Ich habe die Wasserwerte sonst immer mit den bekannten Teststreifen getestet, dann bekam ich noch Teststreifen geschenkt und ein System welches mit Wasser und Farben funtktionert also eigentlich genug Auswahl zum testen. Sollte man meinen. Ich habe mir dann den Spass gemacht und das Wasser mit 4 verschiedenen (Herstellern) Teststreifen und dem Schütteltest gemacht nur um zu sehen wie nah die Werte beieinander sind. Die Teststreifen waren Katastrophe jeder Teststreifen zeigte andere Werte an von 5,4 bis 6,2 war alles dabei, bei dem Ph Wert. Chlor genauso katastrophal. Ja jetzt steht ich davor und frage mich welchen test ich jetzt Vertrauen will? Da war für mich der Zeitpunkt zu einem Digitalen Messgerät zu greifen. Ich habe extra keines der Mega günstigen gekauft sondern mich für dieses entschieden, da mir die vielen Rezessionen zugesagt haben. Ich wieder holte den oben genannten test nochmal mit allen Teststreifen Schütteltest und dem Digitalen Messgerät. Die Streifen waren wieder bunt gemischt wie im Lotto von jedem was dabei, aber darauf kann ich mich nicht mehr verlassen. Das für mich sicherste Ergebnisse ist das von dem PH20 Gerät gewesen, ich habe den Test mehrfach durchgeführt und die Werte waren konstant. Wie die Teststreifen ausgesehen haben will ich euch ersparen. Ich hoffe das gute Gefühl bleibt und wir können unseren Pool weiter nutzen. Das Kalibrieren des Gerätes war sehr einfach und hat sofort funktioniert. Wenn sich etwas ändern sollte gibt es ein Update. DANKE DAS DU DIR DIE ZEIT GENOMMEN HAST ZUM LESEN.

Not worth the money... seriously
I dislike more with this item than i like in all honesty. It's waterproof which is great as i can be clumsy but thats about the only positive.. i upgraded from a £15 meter hoping to see the difference in price reflected in it's performance.. First issue is no backlight so when it's inside a bucket you have to angle it towards the light and fight with glare to read. Secondly instructs state a little smiley face will show on the display when the correct ph reading is reached, don't be fooled, this comes on after a few seconds every time and just smugly smirks at you while you wait up to a around minute for the meter to read its final conclusion. My cheap meter reads in a quater of the time.. And finally for an expensive meter you would expect more precision with the reading.. not with this item.. my cheap meter reads for example 6.53 so i can see exactly how much more until my target, this expensive meter will just display 6.5.. until it reaches 6.6. I regret my purchase and feel a bit dim to have presumed a lot more money would equal better quality. Next time i will try blue lab.
